Prospera Reentry Launches College Campus

Prospera Reentry and Ashland University have joined forces to provide skills-based certificates and college level degrees to those recently out of prison.  Ashland is waiving all tuition costs and fees above the Pell Grant, making this program absolutely free!  Coursework is conducted at Prospera Reentry’s Cleveland location using a combination of live and virtual instruction.  Eight students are currently enrolled, and we aim to have twenty by next semester.

One student, Dawn, is gaining Microsoft certification to become an I.T. support professional. “I love the program so far.  You need to have technology skills to advance in any corporation.”  

DeNeik said, “I am very grateful for this opportunity. As a felon, I never thought I would be able to again receive free educational opportunities.” 

Lisa is so grateful that “Prospera Reentry has backed us and wants to make us productive people with good jobs who follow Christ, whose pasts no longer matter.” 

Education makes re-entering citizens more employable and reduces by over 43% the likelihood that they will return to prison.  Please continue to pray for the success of this exciting program.
